Volunteers are the backbone of the Westwind Riding Institute program. No previous experience is necessary — just an interest in horses and children, and a desire to help. Volunteer opportunities include sidewalking, horse care, and more. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. We also welcome volunteers interested in helping with social media, WRI coordination, grant writing, and fundraising events. Students can receive community service credits.
We provide an orientation and a safety training class for all volunteers. Orientation sessions are held in the main barn in the community room rain or shine. Training sessions meet in the community room and are held in the upper arena. Check the session schedule for orientation and training days/times.
